England's answer to Eyehategod, and with a (slightly) less dumb sounding name! I kid, I kid, but in all seriousness this band will tear you a new asshole. Who says you need to have blistering speed to be the all encompassing description of 'brutal'? I say ney, as Iron Monkey does it with bluesy, hardcore punk inspired sludge riffs with enough punch to restart your grandmothers heart.
Artist: Iron Monkey
Album: Our Problem
Title: Bad Year
Genre: sludge/doom/hardcore
Dirty, heavy fucking mathcore with a slight experimental approach to tickle your adventurous side. At times they will surprise you from their converge like sound going to deeper levels of heaviness experimenting with death growls occasionally. Give the whole album a listen to really get a feel for the band. (remember, you can always listen to the album on bandcamp and support if you've been touched by the music)
Artist - FAUS
Album - Technical Jargon and Partisan Rhetoric
Genre - mathcore/hardcore
To commemorate Gaza further, I am sharing pre-Gaza, Day of Less. Has the masterful vocalist of Gaza along with other members making a brutal take on post-hardcore.
Artist: Day of Less
Album: Porcaria
Song: Birds and Windows
Everything about The Abominable Iron Sloth is heavy; even the name provokes dirty, heavy, sludgy mental imagery. This band doesn't fuck around; they immediately throws you in a groove filled, bottom-heavy sludgefest with the vocalist bringing it over the top with his relentlessly aggressive vocals sounding like his throat is about to rip open.
Punch is exactly what I look for in a hardcore band. They're loud and relentless, the vocals are wailed with driving force and anger (even better, the vocalist is a girl!) and they have a perfect sound of punk, thrash and powerviolence.
Artist: Punch
Album: Push Pull
Song: No Remorse
Genre: Hardcore/Powerviolence
